Where’s the Android version?
We get this question a lot. In fact, we hear it almost every day. And yes, we hear you.
Development of an Uppward native Android application is under way, but right now we can’t commit to a firm launch date. We chose to build for the iPhone first because of volume and market share. Android is quickly cutting into that share, which is why we’re going there next. Thanks for your patience.
Why aren’t we doing cross-platform development at the same time? Simply put: It’s a pain in the ass. We needed to focus on one platform, let people play with it, learn from that process, and make it better. Because Uppward is a passion project that we devote late evening hours and spare hours to, cross-platform development straight out of the gate would have killed us and our families would probably disown us.
Back when Uppward was a browser-based application, Android users were playing around with it and accruing miles. In November we ceased support for m.uppward.com. Unfortunately for Android peeps that means you’ll need to wait a little bit longer before you can use it again. We hope you stick around, and promise that you’ll love what we have in store for you!
Thanks again for being patient with us and we’ll be rocking Android soon. If you have questions, shoot us a message @Uppward on Twitter.
